The following information provides all the Connected system requirements for both Macintosh and Windows platforms. The information includes recommended network configurations and compatible third party applications. (Last Updated 03/10/2013)
Connected Version 7
Mac OS
Minimum Requirements: 275 MB of free hard disk space, 1 GB RAM, Intel processor, OS 10.4 or greater. Screen resolution of 1280x900 or greater. Click Here for information on Mac OS 10.8, Mountain Lion.
Recommended Minimum Requirements: 275 MB of free hard disk space, 2 GB RAM, Intel processor, OS 10.5 or greater. Screen resolution of 1280x900 or greater.
PC – Windows 7 or 8
Minimum Requirements: 275MB of free hard disk space, 2 GB RAM, Pentium IV or greater processor, Windows 7 (32bit) Professional. Screen resolution of 1280x900 or greater.
Recommended Minimum Requirements: 275MB of free hard disk space, 4 GB RAM, Intel i3 processor, Windows 7 or 8 (32 or 64bit) Professional. Screen resolution of 1280x900 or greater.
PC – Windows XP
Recommended Minimum Requirements: 275MB of free hard disk space, 1GB RAM, Pentium IV or greater processor, Windows XP Professional SP3. Screen resolution of 1280x900 or greater. NOTE: Windows 7 or 8 are the primary PC operating platforms for Connected 7. Although Windows XP can still run the application, it is strongly recommended that Windows 7 or 8 be used. Limited support is available for Windows XP.
Connected 7 Server/Network Configurations
The following section outlines the required server/network configurations based on the platform/client operating system that is accessing the Connected data file. NOTE: Ethernet is recommended for all multi-user versions of Connected. Although wireless networking options are available, they are not recommended.
Mac Clients with a Mac Server
2-3 Users: Dedicated Mac OS 10.5 or greater to serve data. All connections to server made via AFP, not SMB.
4+ Users: Dedicated Mac OS 10.6 (or greater) or 10.6 Server (or greater) to serve data. Install and use the Connected ODB server software (version 1.54) on a server which uses a fixed IP address to connect to the data file. Contact Connected Support at (888) 414-2196 for more information on the ODB Server Software.
PC Clients with Windows Server
2-5 Users: Dedicated Windows 7 computer to serve data.
6+ Users: Dedicated Windows 2003, 2008, or 2011 server is recommended.
NOTE: Write caching should be turned OFF on the Windows workstations accessing the data.
Mac & PC Clients with a Mac Server
2+ Users: Dedicated Mac OS 10.5 (or greater) or 10.5 Server (or greater) to serve data. Install and use the Connected ODB server software (version 1.54) on the server which uses a fixed IP address to connect to the data file. WARNING: The Connected ODB Server software MUST be used when sharing data from a Mac server between Mac and Windows clients. Contact Connected Support at (888) 414-2196 for more information on the ODB Server Software.
Mac & PC Clients with Windows Server
2+ Users: Dedicated Windows 2003, 2008, or 2011 server with Macintosh Services installed (when available).
NOTE: Write caching should be turned OFF on the Windows workstations accessing the data. See Appendix 1 of this document for information on how to disable write caching.

Mac OS Snow Leopard: Connected 6.2 or greater.
Mac OS Lion: Connected 6.4.
Windows System Requirements Version 6.x
150MB of free hard disk space, 512MB RAM, Pentium III or greater processor, Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Professional, or Windows 7 Professional. Screen resolution of 1280x900 or greater.

NOTE: A dedicated file server is required for all multi-user versions of Connected on Mac OS. Mac OS multi-user versions can have access to the Connected ODB server software.
